US 2019. D: Jennifer Reeder. A: Jennifer Reeder. 112 min. Fiction. Eng. OV. Suitable from age 12. Recommended from age 15

A young girl disappears from a small US town just before the annual homecoming ball. The classmates are slightly touched, and the sheriff investigates a little. KNIVES AND SKIN irritates expectations from the first minute on. In its exaggeration the film comes uncomfortably close to the hidden places of social dysfunctionality. With a multi-layered ensemble and a playful desire for neon lights, nibbles, singing and clichés, an exuberant mix of bizarre humour, genre elements and feminist social criticism is created.
