At her grandparents’ in north Norway, the nine-year old Ylva from Oslo is taking on a vacation job: cutting cod tongues. What sounds unusual at first is truly an old Norwegian tradition and the tongues are considered a delicacy. Ylva struggles at first, until she meets eleven-year old Tobias who has lots of experience cutting the tongues and helps her find her way. Light-footedly and with a loving eye for detail, the documentary follows the children’s friendship, shows them at work, celebrating and during conversations on their families. (HA)
