CLASSICS 2018

CLASSICS

IN THE CLASSICS SECTION WE PRESENT YOU MOVING IMAGES THAT HAVE MADE HISTORY. With their innovative imagery and unforgettable screen heroes and heroines, they have engrained themselves into the cultural memory of whole generations. Live-scoring provides a creative access to film history. A showcase of the German film institute’s FILMmobil lets you in on how Georges Méliès and other classics sound to today’s teenagers. LUCAS also throws it back to the 80’s! An opportunity for a great nostalgic revival of beloved children’s and youth films that are being celebrated in series such as STRANGER THINGS (US 2016-, D: div.).

»In the cinema, one can dream, be corny or enjoy being dramatic. Life is serious enough as it is.«
