Minis 2018

Minis

IN THE SECTION MINIS, CHILDREN FROM AGE 4 CAN LEARN ABOUT FILM AS AN ART FORM that they themselves can explore creatively – on Family Day with their parents and siblings, in the following days with their nursery groups. Together with film artists, the program awakens the curiosity of the youngest filmgoers in experimental and creative films. This year, everything revolves around the theme of light and shadow.

Once more this year, LUCAS developed the program with the MiniFilmclub of the German Film Institute, which is currently working on a pilot project with national partners to expand their repertoire and become bookable all over Germany. The artistic duo Anna Faroqui and Haim Peretz from the cooperating film atelier of Berlin Arsenal – Institute for Film and Video Art are guests at LUCAS. Also present is the creative educator and paper cutting artist Sonja Wessel, who has been exploring filmic ways of expression with and for children at her Munich »Medienwirkstatt« (media workshop) for many years. Specifically devised for the youngest audiences, the programs create spaces to develop creative thinking, initiative and resilience.
