YOUNG EUROPEAN CINEPHILES 2018

YOUNG EUROPEAN CINEPHILES

DIGITIZE ME! Young Europe is coming to Frankfurt with the »YECs« – four young adults from Germany and Greece present their own film selection for film fans from age fourteen and up. Matching the theme of this year’s LUCAS edition, everything revolves around the appeal of digital worlds.

    Alexandra Bertsatou
          Clara Bulling
      Rafael Steinfeld
           Maria Asmi

“A situation where everyone will think that the point of his or her life is defined by a video game may seem quite irrational”, Alexandra Bertsatou and Maria Asmi from the Greek Olympian International Film Festival think. But they also recognize a trend: “The rapid development of new technologies and the change in our social values render this possibility more realistic than ever before.”

With their German colleagues Rafael Steinfeld und Clara Bulling, the »Young European Cinephiles« present three films at LUCAS 2018 on a theme that affects them. The films tell of the danger and the wish to be drawn into filmic worlds, of humans and machines and present a fascinating view through the camera lens onto the screen.
