Lights, came\u00adra, and action at LUCAS #49: <\/strong>from September 24 to October 1, 2026<\/strong>, Germany\u2019s oldest film fes\u00adti\u00adval for young audi\u00aden\u00adces will pre\u00adsent award-win\u00adning cine\u00adma\u00adtic art for ever\u00adyo\u00adne from ages three to 18+. Families and film enthu\u00adsi\u00adasts of all ages can look for\u00adward to excep\u00adtio\u00adnal cine\u00adma\u00adtic expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces in Frankfurt and Offenbach.<\/p>\n

The defi\u00adning fea\u00adture of LUCAS are the com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adons in the \u00bbKids\u00ab, \u00bbTeens\u00ab, and \u00bbYoungsters\u00ab sec\u00adtions. In addi\u00adti\u00adon to the com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon pro\u00adgram, the fes\u00adti\u00adval shows clas\u00adsics from film histo\u00adry, short films for the very youn\u00adgest, and other pro\u00adgrams, some of which are desi\u00adgned by child\u00adren and young peo\u00adp\u00adle. Representatives of the film indus\u00adtry will have the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to attend con\u00adfe\u00adren\u00adces and panel dis\u00adcus\u00adsions that address topics rela\u00adted to film edu\u00adca\u00adti\u00adon and cur\u00adrent trends in child\u00adren\u2019s and youth film production.<\/p>\n

In the \u00bbKids\u00ab, \u00bbTeens\u00ab, and \u00bbYoungsters\u00ab com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adons, LUCAS pres\u00adents out\u00adstan\u00adding inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal sel\u00adec\u00adtions of fea\u00adture films, docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adries, ani\u00adma\u00adted films, and expe\u00adri\u00admen\u00adtal films. In 2025, 21 fea\u00adture films and 18 short films will com\u00adpe\u00adte for the cove\u00adted LUCAS awards.<\/p>\n

Feature films must have a run\u00adning time of more than 59 minu\u00adtes and must not have been released in German cine\u00admas. A sel\u00adec\u00adtion com\u00admit\u00adtee attends fes\u00adti\u00advals and indus\u00adtry gathe\u00adrings to choo\u00adse com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon ent\u00adries for the \u00bbKids\u00ab, \u00bbTeens\u00ab, and \u00bbYoungsters\u00ab sec\u00adtions from among the stron\u00adgest pro\u00adduc\u00adtions world\u00adwi\u00adde. Premiere sta\u00adtus is not a fac\u00adtor, only qua\u00adli\u00adty matters!<\/p>\n

In recent years, LUCAS has ear\u00adned a spe\u00adcial repu\u00adta\u00adti\u00adon with its short film com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon.
