APHONIA was hono\u00adred with the award for excep\u00adtio\u00adnal cine\u00adma\u00adtic achie\u00adve\u00adment \u2014 the first time a short film has won this pri\u00adze. The awards for the best short films go to LA CALESITA and THINGS UNHEARD OF in the \u00bbKids\u00ab com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon and ROOM in the \u00bbTeens\u00ab com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adti\u00adon. Twelve-year-old Mina is any\u00adthing but cool. Until now, this has\u00adn\u2019t bothe\u00adred her, but then she falls for her new class\u00adma\u00adte Edwin, who is a hip hop dancer. To be clo\u00adse to him, she joins a dance crew and from then on thinks of not\u00adhing else. In a fun\u00adny and thoughtful way, DANCING QUEEN tells how Mina finds hers\u00adelf after a few detours.<\/p>\n

\nThe film DANCING QUEEN is fun\u00adny and sad at the same time and tells the sto\u00adry of a cou\u00adra\u00adge\u00adous girl who pur\u00adsues her dream of dancing despi\u00adte all obs\u00adta\u00adcles. Mina\u2019s search for reco\u00adgni\u00adti\u00adon and belon\u00adging is rou\u00adsing and emo\u00adtio\u00adnal, the actors and actres\u00adses con\u00advin\u00adced us in their acting and during the dance sce\u00adnes we would have lik\u00aded to dance along. We lear\u00adned that dancing is good for the brain and you wri\u00adte bet\u00adter papers if you do some dance moves before\u00adhand. Tony has a spe\u00adcial gift: he glows. But in a house with a mons\u00adter that spreads bad vibes and dark\u00adness, he does\u00adn\u2019t have it easy with that. To pro\u00adtect him, his par\u00adents bare\u00adly let him out the door \u2014 which can be quite stif\u00adling at times. But when Shelly moves in, brin\u00adging fan\u00adta\u00adsy worlds to life with her flash\u00adlight, ever\u00ady\u00adthing changes.<\/p>\n

With rich\u00adly detail\u00aded clay and woo\u00adden pup\u00adpets, colorful paper back\u00addrops and a cave world made of fabric and pil\u00adlows, the film crea\u00adtes magi\u00adcal uni\u00adver\u00adses. We real\u00adly lik\u00aded the atten\u00adti\u00adon to detail in the set and cos\u00adtu\u00adme, the mul\u00adti-laye\u00adred cha\u00adrac\u00adters and the appro\u00adpria\u00adte and pur\u00adpo\u00adseful\u00adly used music.<\/p>\n

Fun is for\u00adbidden and nice things end up in the Farbentsafter 2000, which lea\u00adves only a brown pile. Most of the time, the two of them gam\u00adble on their shared con\u00adso\u00adle, but when it gives up the ghost, they deci\u00adde wit\u00adhout fur\u00adther ado that Jordan should fake an ill\u00adness. With the money they coll\u00adect for him in an online dona\u00adti\u00adon pool, they plan to buy a new console.<\/p>\n

While his mother and youn\u00adger siblings have alre\u00ada\u00addy fled, Omid has stay\u00aded with his grandfather.From then on, he deli\u00advers food and meets a wide varie\u00adty of peo\u00adp\u00adle along the way.<\/p>\n

\nWe have deci\u00added to award Sepideh Farsi\u2019s THE SIREN with an hono\u00adrable men\u00adti\u00adon. The film stands out for its rea\u00adli\u00adstic por\u00adtra\u00ady\u00adal of war and its suc\u00adcessful 3D ani\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon, which, alt\u00adhough very colorful, still con\u00adveys a very serious atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Ten-year-old Nina loves to lis\u00adten to her father\u2019s bedti\u00adme sto\u00adries about a litt\u00adle hedge\u00adhog who dis\u00adco\u00advers the world. But sin\u00adce he lost his job at the fac\u00adto\u00adry, Nina\u2019s world has tur\u00adned upsi\u00adde down. Supposedly, the mana\u00adger of the fac\u00adto\u00adry mani\u00adpu\u00adla\u00adted the accoun\u00adting sys\u00adtem, caus\u00ading the col\u00adlap\u00adse. But rumor has it that the\u00adre is still a small emer\u00adgen\u00adcy reser\u00adve of money hid\u00adden some\u00adwhe\u00adre in the factory.<\/p>\n

Her par\u00adents may be from Senegal, but Ama feels Dutch.But she is not allo\u00adwed to give her address any\u00adwhe\u00adre and is not sup\u00adpo\u00adsed to talk to the poli\u00adce under any cir\u00adcum\u00ads\u00adtances. When her fami\u00adly\u2019s accom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adti\u00adon is final\u00adly dis\u00adco\u00adver\u00aded, Ama\u2019s mother and litt\u00adle brot\u00adher are to be deported.<\/p>\n

In search of authen\u00adtic young actors for his pro\u00adject, he holds a cas\u00adting ses\u00adsi\u00adon at the local school. We think it has a solid nar\u00adra\u00adti\u00adve struc\u00adtu\u00adre, an excel\u00adlent way of describ\u00ading moral\u00adly gray cha\u00adrac\u00adters, and incre\u00addi\u00adble aes\u00adthe\u00adtic imagery. An extra\u00ador\u00addi\u00adna\u00adry, auto\u00adbio\u00adgra\u00adphi\u00adcal animation.<\/p>\n
