IRON BOY, THEIR TOWN, and A GIRL UNKNOWN recei\u00adved Awards as the Best Feature Films for young audi\u00aden\u00adces in their respec\u00adti\u00adve sec\u00adtions. In the Competition \u00bbTeens\u00ab, HIJRA was hono\u00adred with the Award for an Outstanding Cinematic Achievement. The Awards for the Best Short Films went to TILL THE STARS RISE in Competition \u00bbKids\u00ab and SANDY FANNIES in Competition \u00bbTeens\u00ab. Solidarity and fri\u00adend\u00adship stand abo\u00adve all else; duties beco\u00adme secon\u00adda\u00adry. In this ima\u00adgi\u00adna\u00adti\u00adve, uto\u00adpian world, everyone\u2014including the audience\u2014is wel\u00adco\u00adme. When it reap\u00adpears in the forest years later, Kona takes up the pur\u00adsu\u00adit. Reluctantly, she takes along the guard dog pup\u00adpy Colin, whom the cir\u00adcus left behind. Together with the escaped bear Bernardo, they try to catch up with the trou\u00adpe befo\u00adre they board a ship. On their jour\u00adney, Kona must pro\u00adve her cou\u00adra\u00adge and grow bey\u00adond hers\u00adelf, while also lear\u00adning to trust and let go of the past. The film com\u00adbi\u00adnes digi\u00adti\u00adzed, hand\u00adma\u00adde models in a colorful felt look with 3D com\u00adpu\u00adter ani\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon. In this way, it recalls clas\u00adsic stop-moti\u00adon films yet remains a con\u00adtem\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adry ani\u00adma\u00adted adventure.<\/p>\n

\nThe fea\u00adture film BRAVE CAT by Gabriel Osorio Vargas impres\u00adsed us great\u00adly with its detail\u00aded mix of stop-moti\u00adon and ani\u00adma\u00adti\u00adon. It tack\u00adles important the\u00admes such as fri\u00adend\u00adship, soli\u00adda\u00adri\u00adty, cou\u00adra\u00adge, and over\u00adco\u00adming pre\u00adju\u00addi\u00adce. The sto\u00adry of Kona sear\u00adching for her kid\u00adnap\u00adped mother is both exci\u00adting and emo\u00adtio\u00adnal. We were par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar\u00adly struck by the poten\u00adti\u00adal impact of the mix of cute and frigh\u00adtening imagery.<\/p>\n

But then Christophe dis\u00adco\u00advers play\u00ading the organ\u2014which leads to even more pro\u00adblems as it beco\u00admes incre\u00adasing\u00adly clear that his par\u00adents\u2019 farm is in gre\u00adat finan\u00adcial dif\u00adfi\u00adcul\u00adty. The cor\u00adset he is fit\u00adted with is more than just a medi\u00adcal neces\u00adsi\u00adty. The ani\u00adma\u00adted film, drawn in a uni\u00adque water\u00adco\u00adlor style whe\u00adre lar\u00adge images are framed in beau\u00adtiful colors with gre\u00adat ten\u00adder\u00adness, tells a deep\u00adly tou\u00adch\u00ading sto\u00adry, thanks in part to the out\u00adstan\u00adding screen\u00adplay. With magni\u00adfi\u00adcent sound design and a beau\u00adtiful score, the film uses subt\u00adle humor to tell of com\u00adplex cha\u00adrac\u00adters, rela\u00adti\u00adonships and soli\u00adda\u00adri\u00adty, the power of music, and how to bra\u00adve life\u2019s storms.<\/p>\n

It was a beau\u00adtiful film in which they expo\u00adsed them\u00adsel\u00adves not only phy\u00adsi\u00adcal\u00adly but also intern\u00adal\u00adly by tal\u00adking about their inti\u00adma\u00adte secrets and expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces. It was a gre\u00adat expe\u00adri\u00adence to see this incre\u00addi\u00adble short film tog\u00ade\u00adther on the big screen. SANDY FANNIES defi\u00adni\u00adte\u00adly deser\u00adved the award for best short film becau\u00adse of the beau\u00adtiful sto\u00adry bet\u00adween the mother and the daughter.<\/p>\n

A short mee\u00adting, during which they actual\u00adly only wan\u00adted to go through their lines, turns into a long night that takes Abby and Matt across the city. They talk and talk: about the past, about the future, about inse\u00adcu\u00adri\u00adties, about lon\u00adgings. A won\u00adderful\u00adly char\u00adming, almost outra\u00adge\u00adous\u00adly sym\u00adpa\u00adthe\u00adtic film about two young peo\u00adp\u00adle from dif\u00adfe\u00adrent back\u00adgrounds who learn a lot about each other and reve\u00adal a lot about them\u00adsel\u00adves in just a few hours.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>This film was tru\u00adly moving and offe\u00adred the per\u00adfect balan\u00adce bet\u00adween pro\u00adfound con\u00adver\u00adsa\u00adti\u00adons and fun\u00adny moments as Matt and Abigail grew clo\u00adser. As a teen\u00adager, you felt unders\u00adtood on so many dif\u00adfe\u00adrent levels, and it was beau\u00adtiful to see this simp\u00adle yet also very beau\u00adtiful and pro\u00adfound sto\u00adry on the big screen. The film per\u00adfect\u00adly show\u00aded that things are not always as they seem and that ever\u00adyo\u00adne has their own strug\u00adgles. We felt that THEIR TOWN should win the award for Best Feature Film becau\u00adse it was outstanding.<\/p>\n

Affection pro\u00adves to be only a flee\u00adting expe\u00adri\u00adence for her. What remains, howe\u00adver, is the desi\u00adre to find a per\u00adma\u00adnent home. With her latest par\u00adents in the city, a sen\u00adse of secu\u00adri\u00adty still remains elu\u00adsi\u00adve. Nevertheless, the girl repea\u00adted\u00adly expe\u00adri\u00aden\u00adces moments in which she feels she has arri\u00adved. This fee\u00adling is sen\u00adsi\u00adtively cap\u00adtu\u00adred by the came\u00adra and accom\u00adpa\u00adnied by mini\u00adma\u00adlist music by Valentin Hadjadj. To coun\u00adter the uncer\u00adtain\u00adty and repea\u00adted uproo\u00adting in her life, Wang Juan is left only with self-assertion.<\/p>\n

But one of them stay\u00aded in our memo\u00adries in par\u00adti\u00adcu\u00adlar: the cine\u00adma\u00adto\u00adgra\u00adphy, the sound, and the acting per\u00adfor\u00adman\u00adces roun\u00added off A GIRL UNKNOWN per\u00adfect\u00adly.
