MY LIFE IN VERSAILLES – THE MOVIE
MY LIFE IN VERSAILLES – THE MOVIE
Lovingly hand-drawn animation about an eight-year-old who builds a new home with her uncle at the Palace of Versailles
He stinks, dresses badly, eats with his mouth open, and lives in a rundown shack in the park of the magnificent French Palace of Versailles: her gruff Uncle Regis, whom she last saw many years ago, is the last person Violette would want to move in with after her parents’ death. But his soft core, Violette’s romantic nerd of a friend Malcolm, and the Sun King Louis XIV “in person” set something in motion in Violette: because grieving and finding a new home takes time—and it’s hard to do on your own. Sensitive and life-affirming, MY LIFE IN VERSAILLES tells of loss, new beginnings, and the comforting power of family and friendship. (WB)
