Would you like to learn how to write a good film review and what is visually possible with AI? Then LUCAS is the right place for you! There are still places available for the »Critics« workshop.

No one has ever left a movie theater without their own opinion. As soon as the lights go up, we are asked: How did you like the movie? Best movie ever or rather a disappointment? While such a verdict passes quickly from the lips, a film review aims for a more in-depth examination of the moving images. Content and narrative style should be put into words with a personal touch. A look at aesthetics, contemporary and social contexts round off a successful film review. It takes time to discuss films with like-minded people and to tinker with texts. Once the words are set, all that is missing is a clear presentation. In the final stage of this festival edition, the group is therefore trying out modern forms of presentation using AI-supported visualizations of their texts. With the help of film mediator Lara Verschragen, the workshop participants will learn the appropriate tools. During the festival week, they will view competition films and publish their work and views on the LUCAS website on a daily basis.
