When an ocean separates father and daughter, stories bring them together.
Maya lives in France, her father in Los Angeles. To stay in touch, he regularly asks her: “Maya, give me a title.” Her spontaneous ideas give rise to lovingly whimsical stop-motion animation films in which Maya becomes the heroine. After the first part, Michel Gondry continues the playful father-daughter ping-pong with MAYA, GIVE ME ANOTHER TITLE – with fantasy and humor, with heart and the imagination of a father who gets a little closer to his daughter with every new story. Biography
Michel Gondry from Versailles is known for his imaginative music videos and feature films. Inspired by his daughter, he ventured into a fully animated feature film for the first time in 2024 with MAYA, GIVE ME A TITLE. For the second part, he learned to move characters “simply and yet realistically”. His aim is to “spark the audience’s creativity – just like I did with my daughter Maya.”
