The time has come: The Award Ceremony of the 49th LUCAS edi­ti­on is taking place at the DFF Cinema.

Young film fans dis­cuss the awards in the »Kids« and »Teens« com­pe­ti­ti­ons as equ­als with adult indus­try pro­fes­sio­nals. In the “Youngsters” com­pe­ti­ti­on, the decis­i­on lies in the hands of six teen­agers from Norway, Romania, and Germany. The European Children’s Film Association (ECFA) jury con­sists of European experts from the child­ren’s and youth film sce­ne. This year, Elisabeth Wenk (Jury Competition »Kids«) tog­e­ther with Simone Fratini and Jaroslava Hynštová (both Jury Competition »Teens«) will pre­sent the ECFA Award to their favo­ri­te European child­ren’s film. The pri­ze qua­li­fies the films for the annu­al com­pe­ti­ti­on for the “Best European Children’s Film of the Year,” which is award­ed during the Berlin International Film Festival. Cinema Without Borders is an inter­na­tio­nal film indus­try net­work that pres­ents the “Bridging The Borders Award” at LUCAS. The pri­ze honors films that bring peo­p­le clo­ser tog­e­ther across bor­ders of all kinds and address issues of social jus­ti­ce. The Audience Award gives the LUCAS audi­ence a voice.
