ALMOST FOREVER
ALMOST FOREVER
A long-term documentary portrait of a group of friends in Stockholm on the threshold of adulthood
Carefree childhood summers give way to turbulent teenage years: Beginning in 2020—a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic—ALMOST FOREVER follows Jasmine, Philip, and their group of friends over the course of five years. Together, they roam the Swedish capital and spend every free minute with one another. But first loves, hurt feelings, insecurities, and new experiences change the group’s cohesion as well as their outlook on the future. Documentary footage blends with the teens’ cell phone videos, Snaps, and TikTok Reels to create a polyphonic narrative in which a generation chronicles its own coming-of-age. (KP)
