A long time ago, wild­cat Kona’s mother was kid­nap­ped by a cir­cus. When it reap­pears in the forest years later, Kona sets off in pur­su­it. Reluctantly, she takes along Colin, a guard-dog pup­py the cir­cus left behind. Together with Bernardo, an escaped bear, they try to catch up with the trou­pe in time befo­re it boards a ship. On her jour­ney, Kona must pro­ve her cou­ra­ge and rise abo­ve hers­elf, while also lear­ning to trust and let go of the past. The film com­bi­nes digi­ti­zed, hand­craf­ted models in a colorful felt look with 3D com­pu­ter ani­ma­ti­on. This evo­kes clas­sic stop-moti­on films while still being a con­tem­po­ra­ry ani­ma­ted adven­ture. (NW)
