THEIR TOWN
Abby and Matt drift through the night, sharing everything that moves them for a few hours.
Matt is only chosen as a last resort: After Abby’s boyfriend suddenly no longer wants to play the lead role alongside her in a school play, the shy teenager is involuntarily cast as Abby’s partner. A brief meeting, during which they were only supposed to go through their lines, unexpectedly turns into a long night that takes Abby and Matt across the city. They talk and talk: about the past, about the future, about insecurities, about longings. A wonderfully charming, almost outrageously likeable film about two young people from different backgrounds who learn a lot about each other and reveal much about themselves in just a few hours. Biography
Katie Aselton is an award-winning actress and filmmaker. As an actress, she is best known for her roles in THE PUFFY CHAIR and the series THE LEAGUE. In 2022, she directed the comedy MACK & RITA starring Diane Keaton. With THEIR TOWN, she presents her fifth feature film as a director; the lead actress is her daughter Ora Duplass.
