HOW THE POWER OF MUSIC CREATES A PLACE FOR HOPE AND DREAMS

In the 1960s, the legendary record label Stax Records was a driving force behind the US civil rights movement. This commitment continues through the Stax Music Academy in Memphis, which every year, accepts inquisitive young people of all backgrounds. Music helps them find their own voice, defy circumstances and face their reality. The young people dance, sing, laugh, compose, and discuss racism, the transformative power of music and their role as the next generation of artists. An energetic and moving documentary, full of self-confidence, authenticity, passion, and soul.
